Every year my school, McMaster University, they put on a student run event, World Congress, which brings many speakers from large businesses, to share valuable lessons from the business and academic world.
This year, a certain speaker caught my eye - Joanna Griffiths.
(who turned out to be my friends, boyfriends, sister!)

Always consumer-focused, Joanna has over seven years of marketing and PR experience. She has worked for Universal Music, the Toronto International Film Festival, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and was director of business development for the award-winning social recommendations startup bre.ad.

Joanna launched Knix Wear via a crowd funding campaign in May of 2013 on Indiegogo where she sold over $60,000 in high tech knickers, becoming the most-funded Canadian fashion project of all time. Knix Wear made crowdfunding and retail history, when Hudson's Bay placed an 18-store pre-order, marking the first time a brand has been picked up by a major retailer via crowdfunding. Over the past several months Joanna has been quotes in numerous media outlets, including Forbes, Fast Company, Women's Wear Daily, the Toronto Star, Globe and Main and the Financial Post."
So inspirational to hear how she is achieving her entrepreneurial dreams at such a young age, and how she got to where she is today.
We got the first look at her new campaign video for athletic underwear.
"FitKnix is the ultimate workout underwear, maximizing movement and comfort while integrating moisture wicking technology throughout the garment."
When you sign up for Club Knixy you get a $10 off coupon - I'm definitely going to order some.
Great product, and even better to support a young entrepreneur.
Check out Knix Wear.
